Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this car battery charger compatible with lithium batteries?
A: No. The Alasicka 12V 6A charger is specifically designed for wet (flooded) and dry lead-acid batteries, including maintenance-free types. It is not suitable for lithium batteries. Using it with a lithium battery may cause damage.
Q: What vehicles and battery sizes does this charger support?
A: This charger is compatible with 12V lead-acid batteries ranging from 2AH to 100AH, making it suitable for motorcycles, cars, SUVs, and other 12V battery-powered vehicles.
Q: What does it mean if the LED stays red and never turns green?
A: If the indicator light remains red throughout the charging process and does not switch to green, the battery may be internally damaged or deeply discharged beyond recovery. We recommend having the battery tested or replaced before continuing to use the charger.
Q: Can I use this charger in both the US and other countries?
A: Yes. The charger accepts a wide input voltage range of 110V–220V AC, making it compatible with power outlets in both North America and most international locations (an appropriate plug adapter may be required).
Q: What is the difference between Winter and Summer mode?
A: The Winter and Summer charging modes adjust the charger's internal algorithm to account for temperature effects on lead-acid battery chemistry. Winter mode provides a slightly higher charge voltage to compensate for the reduced battery efficiency in cold temperatures, while Summer mode charges at standard levels suitable for warmer conditions.
