Usage Tips & Precautions

1. Place in Direct Sunlight: This is a solar direct-drive pump — no battery backup is included. For optimal performance, always position the fountain in unobstructed sunlight. Shadows will reduce or interrupt water flow.
2. Keep Fully Submerged: The water pump must remain completely submerged at all times. Do not operate it out of water for extended periods. When first placed in water, allow the pump to run briefly before attaching the nozzle to purge any trapped air.
3. Maintain Clean Water: Use clean water and regularly rinse the pump to prevent debris from clogging the intake, ensuring consistent performance and a longer product lifespan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does the solar fountain work on cloudy days?

A: The HOMEFISH solar floating fountain is a direct-drive solar pump, meaning it requires direct sunlight to operate consistently. On overcast or cloudy days, the pump may work intermittently or not at all. It will automatically restart whenever sunlight intensity is sufficient, so performance returns as soon as the sun comes back out.

Q: What types of water features is this fountain suitable for?

A: This mini solar fountain is designed for a wide range of outdoor water features including bird baths, garden ponds, decorative pools, fish tanks, and small water bowls. It floats freely on the water surface, making it incredibly easy to deploy anywhere outdoors.

Q: How do I change the spray pattern?

A: The fountain comes with multiple interchangeable nozzles. Simply swap out the nozzle head to change the spray pattern and adjust the water spray height between approximately 35 cm and 65 cm. It's recommended to attach the nozzle after the pump has started spraying normally to avoid air-lock issues.

Q: Does the fountain need any batteries or wiring?

A: No — this fountain is 100% solar-powered with no external batteries, wiring, or electricity required. Just place it in water under direct sunlight and it runs completely free of charge.
